Job Description



AECOM is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Aviation Program Manager to oversee and coordinate various airport projects and programs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in airport operations, project management, and stakeholder engagement. This role requires excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills to ensure the successful execution of airport initiatives.

 

This person will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

  • Lead and manages large to very large size programs which have high levels of execution complexity and significant strategic value to the firm.
  • Provide the organization with strong technical leadership and strategic direction for program delivery.
  • Develop and manage airport programs and projects from inception to completion, ensuring they meet budget, timeline, and quality standards.
  • Coordinate with various departments, including operations, maintenance, security, and customer service, to ensure seamless program implementation.
  • Liaise with external stakeholders, including airlines, government agencies, contractors, and vendors, to facilitate project progress and resolve issues.
  • Monitor and report on program performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and best practices in airport operations and project management.
  • Prepare and present regular updates and reports to senior management and other stakeholders.
  • Manage program budgets, resources, and schedules effectively to achieve project goals.
  • Lead and mentor a team of project managers and support staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.

Qualifications



Minimum Requirements

  • BA/BS in Airport Management, Business Administration, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field + 10 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including 4 years of leadership.

Preferred Requirements

  • A master’s degree, Professional Engineer (P.E.), and/or CCM certification is preferred
  • 10 + years of experience in airport operations or program management
  • Experience with managing multiple program delivery methods, such as Design-Bid-Build (DBB), Design-Build (DB), Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR), Progressive Design-Build (PDB), etc
  • Proven track record of successfully managing complex projects and programs in an airport environment of $10M or more in contract value
  • Strong knowledge of FAA regulations, airport safety standards, and industry best practices
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • PMP or similar project management certification is a plus
