We’re looking for an assertive, compassionate, and dedicated Certified Substance Abuse Counselor to join our team to make a lasting impact on the lives of those we serve. In this role, you’ll work in an all-male residential setting, providing guidance, accountability, and support to individuals facing addiction. You’ll collaborate with clients to create personalized treatment plans, facilitate individual and group counseling sessions, and reinforce the program’s structure. Your work will make a tangible difference in the lives of those navigating recovery, and you’ll have the opportunity to develop and grow in the field of addiction medicine.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct individual and group counseling sessions to address emotional and behavioral needs
• Develop and implement tailored treatment plans for each client
• Use motivational interviewing techniques to foster client engagement and progress
• Maintain accurate documentation of client progress, in compliance with HIPAA regulations
• Stay current with trends in behavioral therapy and addiction medicine to enhance your practice
• Educate clients on medical terminology related to their conditions and treatment options
• Support clients in staying compliant with the justice system and program requirements
• Reinforce accountability and help clients build the skills needed for long-term recovery

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree required
• Advanced Substance Use Disorder Counseling License
• Prior professional experience in addiction counseling or a behavioral health setting

Skills :

• Strong knowledge of HIPAA regulations and client confidentiality
• Proficiency in individual and group counseling techniques
• Familiarity with case management and addiction treatment best practices
• Ability to apply motivational interviewing to support client motivation
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to build rapport
• A solid understanding of addiction medicine and mental health treatment
