Description:
As a Site Safety and Health Officer, your role primarily involves overseeing safety and health policies at construction sites. Responsibilities of the position could involve working at a single site or multiple sites. Below are the key responsibilities associated with this position:
• Knowledge and understanding of the Company’s Safety and Health Program, applicable Regulatory Standards and EM 385-1-1
• Understanding of site-specific project safety requirements
• Assist project team with Safety Startup Checklist
• Assist in the completion and maintenance of the Accident Prevention Plan
• Participate in the 6 Step Quality/Safety Control Process
• Oversee the Safety Point file system
• Assist the Project Superintendent in the completion and maintenance of the Safety Management Tool
• Assist the Project Superintendent in the project site specific safety orientation
• Conduct project safety training, as needed
• Maintain project statistical data
• Assist in the development and implementation of the project’s SAFE Program
• Report on subcontractor safety performance to Project Superintendent and Project Manager Conduct project safety audits
• Participate in OSHA inspections
• Participate in all incidents and/or near miss investigations
• Work with project team to maintain the safety budget and safety supplies for employees
• Attend Owner meetings and work with their safety representatives, as necessary
• Assist in the development and review of Activity Hazard Analysis
• Attend competent person courses, as available
• Personnel evaluation and development
• Other projects as assigned
Requirements:• OSHA 30-Hour Training Certification
• 5 years of continuous Construction Industry Safety experience in Supervising/Managing General Construction (managing safety programs or processes or conducting hazard analyses and developing controls)
• Current and up to date First Aid and CPR Training ( in person, hands on training ONLY. No online certifications allowed )
• Preferred 4-year degree in Occupational Health
• Experience on Federal Facilities, preferably with the USACE (Corps of Engineers)
• EM 385 1-1 40-hour certification
• Strong communication skills
• Able to read, write, and communicate in English fluently
• Ability to use computer programs such as Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Adobe
• Must be willing to travel.
Yearly 8-hour EM-385 1-1 is required in addition to OSHA 30 hour, and EM-385 1-1 40 hour .
