GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Technology Administrator-Engineering will help produce and maintain processes the Engineering teams use to make their duties as efficient and risk free as possible. The role will include the development of tools in a myriad of systems that communicate together.

Salary range ($85,000-$110,000). Based on experience.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Design, debug, and QA a suite of tools within software undertaken by the Engineering department (e.g., Excel, Revit, Eriksson).
  • With the help of the BIM Manager find inefficiencies and/or potential gains using BIM data across the D&E department. After identifying weak points, develop solutions using means available.
  • Promote and further the use of BIM practices in the engineering sub-department.
  • Support and aid in the continuation of any development in third party engineering software.
  • Own and manage any engineering tools Wells develops internally.
  • Maintain any system, tool and/or platform built from the above functions.
EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field required.
  • Strong background in structural engineering theory.
  • Knowledge of the VBA and python language with a willingness to learn others (e.g., C# and other .net)
  • Basic understanding of general construction practices.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and follow project schedules.
  • Ability to solve problems quickly and efficiently.
  • Strong knowledge of Precast.
  • Strong knowledge of Revit.
  • Knowledge of API structures and development.
  • Communicates well across different departments.
  • Organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and able to work on more than one project at once.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ ADA ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for typing, filing, and using office equipment.
  • Visual acuity and ability to read small print.
  • Hearing acuity and ability to communicate effectively with others.
  • Ability to lift and move office supplies and equipment.
  • Mobility and ability to move around the office as needed.
