KU Resources is seeking an entry-level environmental technician with 0 to 5 years experience to join our team at our Duquesne, Pennsylvania office. This position will be full-time with benefits.

Primary Responsibilities

• Collection of soil, groundwater, soil gas, and indoor air samples
• Collection of drinking water and wastewater samples
• Evaluation and testing for lead-based paint, asbestos, and mold
• Monitoring of field projects
• Monitoring well gauging and bailing
• Preparation of daily field reports/notes
• Data tabularization and analysis
• Site inspections/reconnaissance

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with relevant experience
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in environmental science, geology, or related field is preferred but not required
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Ability to order and utilize testing equipment in an effective and safe manner
• Willingness to achieve required certifications to perform job tasks (will train)
• Ability to be flexible and work as part of a team
• Strong work ethic

Physical Job Requirements

• Ability to stoop, kneel, climb, and lift up to 50 pounds
• Safely utilize testing and field equipment
• Must have a valid driver’s license and pass drug screening

· Exposure to outdoor elements including heat and cold, heights, working alongside traffic, etc.

· Travel: Work typically within a 50-mile radius of home office, occasional travel required.

· Training: Provided

· Salary Range: $45,000 to $51,000 per year, dependent on experience

· Must be authorized to work in the United States
