What you’ll be doing...

Verizon is seeking a talented and detail-oriented Data Analyst to join our team. As a Data Analyst, you will be responsible for interpreting data, analyzing results, and providing actionable insights to drive informed decision-making across the enterprise. The ideal candidate will be skilled in aspects of data analytics, including mining, generation, and visualization. You will work closely with stakeholders to understand their data needs, develop analytical solutions, and present findings in a clear and concise manner.

Responsibilities include:

• Working closely with stakeholders to understand and maintain focus on their analytics needs, including critical metrics and KPIs, and deliver actionable insights to relevant decision-makers.
• Performing exploratory data analysis to uncover trends, patterns, and anomalies.
• Creating visually appealing and interactive dashboards, reports, and presentations.
• Orchestrating data visualizations and internal presentations that translate analytic insights into tangible, measurable solutions for network and security partners to implement.
• Manipulating and analyzing large and complex data sets to distill insights from data; connect disparate ideas into cohesive, well-grounded recommendations using creative, effective, structured and analytical thinking.
• Validating data accuracy, completeness, and integrity.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

• Must be a current participant of the Department of Defense Skillbridge Program or of the Hiring our Heroes Corporate Fellowship Program.
• Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
• Three or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through work experience and/or military experience.
• Knowledge and experience in any of the disciplines of statistics, data visualization, anomaly detection, or machine learning.
• Experience in using Splunk and Elastic Search for data analysis and visualization.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Cyber Security, or Computer Science.
• Demonstrated ability to use data analytics tools, such as Splunk and Elastic Search.
• Demonstrated the ability to effectively find, collect, organize and interpret various types of data and present this data using visualizations / dashboards.
• Demonstrated ability to apply statistical and analytical techniques to derive insights from complex datasets.
• Articulate with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Capable of communicating complex information in an easy to understand format. Able to interact comfortably with the cross functional leadership.
• Ability to think creatively; Builder who is ambitious. Highest standards of accuracy and precision; highly organized.
• Has passion for innovation and collaboration.

Where you’ll be working

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and a minimum eight assigned office days per month that will be set by your manager.
