Night Auditor - Hotel Location Minneapolis, MN :

Job Summary :

The Night Auditor is responsible for providing exceptional guest service during overnight hours, balancing financial reports, and ensuring the smooth operation of the hotel's front desk. This includes checking in and out guests, resolving guest issues, and ensuring the accuracy of all accounting and financial data.

Key Responsibilities :

• Guest Services :
• Check guests in and out, ensuring all relevant procedures are followed.
• Handle guest inquiries, requests, and complaints efficiently.
• Provide hotel and local area information to guests.
• Answer phone calls, transfer calls, and handle messages.
• Nightly Accounting Duties :
• Balance and audit the day's financial transactions, including room charges, food and beverage sales, and other guest service revenue.
• Reconcile all credit card transactions and ensure that proper payment is received.
• Prepare daily revenue reports and communicate any discrepancies to management.
• Post room charges, taxes, and any adjustments to guest accounts.
• Safety and Security :
• Monitor hotel premises for safety and security during overnight hours.
• Respond to emergencies following established protocols.
• Ensure that the lobby and front desk area are clean, organized, and secure.
• Administrative Tasks :
• Handle check-ins for late arrivals and check-outs for early departures.
• Ensure that all guest folios are accurate and complete for check-outs.
• Assist with any required administrative tasks, such as preparing reports for management.
• Run backup procedures to prevent data loss.
• Communication :
• Relay necessary information to the morning shift to ensure continuity in service.
• Maintain effective communication with housekeeping, security, and other departments as necessary.

Requirements :

• High school diploma or equivalent; some college or accounting background preferred.
• Previous hotel front desk experience, especially with night auditing or accounting functions, is highly preferred.
• Proficient with front desk systems, such as Marriott's PMS (Property Management System), or similar software.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently during overnight shifts.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to handle stress and remain calm in emergencies or with difficult guests.
• Basic knowledge of accounting principles.

Working Conditions :

• Overnight shifts (typically 10 p.m. - 8 a.m.), weekends, and holidays are required.
• Must be able to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced environment.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
