Amazon Customer Service (CS) is seeking a Principal Program Manager to lead cross-org initiatives focused on improving how we plan and inspect progress on our key initiatives. If you love working across multiple teams, thrive on diving into details as well as connecting dots between teams, and index high on ownership - this could be a perfect match.

In this high-visibility role, you will be part of a small team supporting the VP, Amazon CS. You will own org-wide mechanisms that provide transparency into the right details for key initiatives across both technology and operations. This role requires close partnership with CS senior leaders to understand their priorities and communication preferences. You'll have the opportunity to build mechanisms that inform strategic discussions on the investments CS is making into improving customer experiences at scale.

Key job responsibilities

- Manage cross-org programs designed to provide visibility into planning and progression on key initiatives

- Develop new mechanisms and processes to increase operational efficiency.

- Partner with senior stakeholders across Amazon CS to ensure close alignment on strategic priorities.

- Is comfortable leading strategic initiatives and working with stakeholders to solve complex challenges

- Is highly analytical and process-driven, can assist with strategic planning, drive decisions forward, execute on high-impact projects, and lead through influence

- Has the proven ability to develop and scale mechanisms

- Finds clarity of thought through strong writing

- Can lead and deliver results, even when faced with ambiguity

- Has experience managing stakeholders at all levels

- Is able to work cross-functionally with many teams and multi-task with a sense of urgency

- Has impeccable attention to detail, follow-through, and resourcefulness

- Uses analytical skills to develop quantitative and qualitative insights to both look around corners and formulate robust, actionable recommendations for senior leadership

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 7+ years of program or project management experience

- 7+ years of working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams experience

- 7+ years of managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership experience

- Experience implementing repeatable processes and driving automation or standardization

- Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements

- Bachelor's degree

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience delivering cross functional projects

- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects or programs

- Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines, and reporting

- Excellent writing skills

- Proven ability to think and plan ahead, prioritize short and long term, and manage time effectively

- Excellent meeting management and facilitation skills

- Proven experience working cross functionally and holding people accountable for deliverables without a formal reporting structures

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $124,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $206,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
