Group Therapist

The Group Facilitator is responsible for facilitating and implementing group sessions. The goal is for the facilitator to create a safe environment so that all patients feel comfortable in sharing about emotonal difficulties. The group facilitator will also need to provide a catalyst for the personal development of the patients.

This position is 40hrs/week, alternating 1 week of Mon-Fri and 1 week of Tues-Fri + 1 weekend day (average 2 weekend days worked per month)

• Facilitate 3-4 group sessions per day of CBT, DBT, group therapy, self-compassion, HRV biofeedback, self-soothe, crafts, games, movement, goals groups, and others.
• Facilitate interaction between group members.
• Collaborate with other team members and disciplines in delivering goal-driven therapeutic interventions
• Provide group coverage for integrative therapies department as needed
• Document group sessions including patients’ progress, problems, concerns and mental status in groups.
• Follow the format and requirements within the program; complete special projects as assigned.
• Ensure that all documentation related to the provision of direct patient services is completed in a timely manner and in accordance with established policies and procedures and state standards.
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with staff, interns, management and other professional colleagues.
• Attend mandatory training and in-service collaborations.

• Bachelors in related field; knowledgeable in Eating Disorders.
• 2+ years in mental health setting, preference for experience leading groups, knowledge of therapeutic group topics
• Ability to present group material to adults and adolescents
• Ability to lift and carry group materials
• Demonstrates Proficiency in Communication/Written skills.
• Ability to document group attendance in electronic medical record software
• Knowledge of State & Federal Statutes Regarding Client Confidentiality laws.
